Library Update 16.03.20

It’s mostly business as usual currently at the sling library but like most people we’re doing our bit to try to help slow the spread of covid-19.

We’re washing our hands more frequently, and we want to help you to do so too, government guidelines are to wash your hands when you arrive somewhere or arrive home from a place; before eating; and after coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose. So we’ll make sure you know where the handwashing facilities are!

And please follow government guidelines to stay at home if you (or your child) have a continuous cough or a fever.

We’ve started taking your full name on our register and ensuring your contact details are on our database, this is so we can get in touch with you easily if we’re informed of any kind of infectious disease that you may have been in contact with. This information will always be stored according to our privacy policy.

We’re keeping things clean! The carriers, dolls and tablet (etc) are being given a wipe over more regularly than normal.

We may need to cancel a session at the last minute so please check for updates on social media (it’s always worth doing that anyway just in case!) and we’ll update as soon as we can if we have to cancel a session.

And if we have to pause the sessions for a while we’ve got contingency plans, for example we can use the drop box at my house in Newton-le-Willows! (Which can be used generally too for drop offs and pick ups, and you can always post back too!). And since I like to prepare I have many plans up to and including broadcasting sling advice via shortwave radio from my wilderness hide out!*

All in all, be sensible, listen to official channels and follow their advice to the letter, and keep your babies close (because it’s just good for everyone!).

*not really, I’m not exactly the outdoorsy type.
